APPLECHEEKS™ WARRANTY INFORMATION
AppleCheeks has high standards for quality control and we are proud of the excellent products we produce with relatively very few warranty issues.
Below is a detailed description of what we need in order to effectuate an exchange/repair for one of our beloved customers:
With every issue, repair or exchange we require proof of purchase and photos of the diaper(s), whether or not the issue is known.
Our warranty on Envelope Covers and Swim Diapers covers Snap issues for 18 months, elastic defects for 60 days (exempting known issues with some rubber elastics) and workmanship/sewing defects for 30 days. Our warranty on inserts covers sewing defects only for 30 days. WARRANTIES ARE NON-TRANSFERABLE. The name on the invoice/sales receipt must match the name of the individual making the claim. For group buys, please make sure that they are pre-approved by Customer Care and that the names of all inviduals participating in said group buy are registered by email.
Delamination: We replace all diapers with delaminated PUL that are claimed with a year of purchase, with proof of purchase. Please see http://applecheeks.squarespace.com/posts/2013/5/28/is-my-diaper-actually-delaminating.html for examples of normal wrinkling vs. true delamination. We ask for photos of the delamination for confirmation, and once photos have been received and delamination confirmed we will send an e-mail with a few questions for the customer to answer relating to care, and we will provide an address for return of defective merchandise. We require returns of delaminated diapers for internal quality control purposes.
Cracked PUL: As per our conversations with the PUL supplier, cracked PUL occurs when the laminate is severely dried out. This can happen because of water quality, types of detergent, and many other factors out of our control. As such, we do not cover cracked PUL under warranty.
Snaps: We cover snap issues for 18 months on diapers that were purchased directly from AppleCheeks or authorized AppleCheeks retailers, with proof of purchase. We ask for photos if the snap has broken, popped off or chipped. If the snap has broken cleanly and can be replaced this is an option – if not, we will replace the diaper completely for the customer. If the snap doesn’t stay snapped, or won’t snap it can often simply be tightened and will be completely usable. If you have access to a snap press this is an easy fix. Alternately, the diaper can be shipped back to us and we will fix it free of charge. Proof of purchase is required.
Stretched Braided Elastics: We cover issues with braided elastics for 60 days, with proof of purchase. Elastics stretch over time and this is inevitable. Factors such as hard water, constant stripping, use of fabric softeners, bleach, vinegar or scented detergents, extreme high temperatures, smaller than recommended stashes, as examples, can affect the life of an elastic and are out of our control. If there is an issue with elastics within 60 days of purchase we will require photos, proof of purchase and details of the issue at hand. Inserts: We cover all manufacturing defects on both viscose from bamboo and microterry inserts for 30 days with proof of purchase. This includes pre-existing rips to the fabric or sewing-related issues.
Normal Wear and Tear/Non-manufacturing related damages: All products have a limited lifespan despite care taken to preserve them. These products are used to contain such acidic substances as urine and feces, and are washed regularly. As such, they will all eventually show wear and tear. There is no set amount of time that a diapering product can be expected to last. We do not warranty against degredation from prolonged storage or wear from use including but not limited to holes, runs under snaps, snags on sidewalks or from pools, wood, cement, or washer/dryer problems. If you notice any such thing PRIOR to first wash, please do not wash. Contact Customer Care to organize an exchange.
Used Items: Our warranty does not cover any used items purchased second-hand. We only cover products purchased new directly from AppleCheeks or of our amazing retailers. Warranty cannot be transferred.
Shipping items back to AppleCheeks: We ask all customers to send their diapers back to AppleCheeks the most cost-effective way possible. If customers are asked to mail defective products back to us and require us to reimburse for shipping, please advise us accordingly. We do, however, require a photo or scan of the receipt from the postal service. We reimburse via PayPal. US items that only require an exchange or snap repair will be directed to a US address. All Canadian returns will be directed to AppleCheeks HQ in Canada.
Retailer Exclusives: Retailer exclusives are covered under the same conditions as regular, in stock items, but we ask you to approach the retailer directly for your replacement.
